Sunday on the Couch (till Tuesday)!

Filed under: Uncategorized — robfischer @ 3:38 am

Just a few thoughts:

Thanks to CBS for putting the US Open tennis championship on Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock.  They had matches that started after midnight on the east coast for the last three weeks!  But for the final match of the event- 4pm!  They replaced a lot of great shows on USA for three weeks, but CBS couldn’t replace REPEATS of The Big Bang Theory?  Seriously?  Thanks for allowing me to watch every crappy match only to make me miss the Final.

NFL Week One Notes: Scott Linehan won’t survive the season.  Chris Johnson looks really good.  Where’s Matt Leinart?  Kurt Warner beat him out of a job!  Maybe he should work on his job more and stop partying with Brody Jenner and Nick Lachey.  The Super Bowl Champs are the third best team in their own division.  Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco have more wins in their rookie season than Troy Aikman had.  Overrated- Seattle, Cleveland, Houston.

Here are the results of the Sports Bar football picks ATS after 2 weeks (Overall Record):

Congrats to Britney Spears for the big comeback and taking home the VMA’s Sunday night.  Congratulations also goes out to MTR who has BS already picked out as the first lady on his 2020 ticket.

She is lookin good again!  Good work MTR!

One more thing- I know the guys on the show have made fun of my music taste and my television viewing taste.  However, if you haven’t seen Neal Boyd on America’s Got Talent, you are missing a superstar in the making.  YouTube, Google, do whatever you can to see this guy sing.  His performance for his mother was flat out amazing!

Phelps NOT the Best (MSNBC) Bringing eight gold medals back from Beijing proves Michael Phelps rules the pool, but fellow gold medalist Bryan Clay doesn’t think the swimmer has what it takes to be called the world’s greatest athlete. As far as the decathlete is concerned, that honor is his alone. “When you’re talking about the best athlete in the world, I think it needs to be somebody that’s well rounded, that can do everything well,” Bryan told OK! magazine. “I think that’s me at this point.”

George O’Leary Sex Tape! ( UCF’s scheduled media teleconference with football coach George O’Leary was delayed this week because the school accidentally gave out the number for a phone-sex line instead of the correct number for the teleconference. “Hi sexy!” media members calling the number were greeted. “You’ve reached the live, one-on-one fantasy line.”

Jessica Simpson Busy on Sunday (Access Hollywood)- Jessica Simpson has no immediate plans to return to acting. “I’m not closing that chapter of my life by any means. But I am all about the music right now. When it comes to acting, it’s gotta feel right for me at this point in my life. Simpson is about to release her first country album, “Do You Know,” which includes a song about her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (“You’re My Sunday”).

Tupac Shakur tops ‘overrated’ music list (Reuters)- Dead rapper Tupac “2Pac” Shakur, the hip-hop icon who sold more records after he was murdered than during his brief career, is the most overrated person in music, according to music magazine Blender. Other overrated finalists included the Grammys at No. 7, encores at No. 12, Pink Floyd at No. 14 and “the music you loved as a teenager” at No. 23. As for the Grammys, the music industry’s top awards, Blender said sitting through the ceremony was “like watching paint dry on Celine Dion’s forehead.”

Pam Anderson with King of Pop? Talk about your curious couples! The Daily Mirror reports that Michael Jackson and Pamela Anderson have gone on a two top-secret dates recently. “It was all arranged by their people in total secrecy, very cloak and dagger,” an insider told the paper. “They arrived separately at the Shutters Hotel on Malibu Beach so no one would suspect anything and then had a few drinks in the bar.” The pair allegedly had such a good time they met again at another Malibu hideout. “They chatted about Michael turning 50, his new album, their kids. And he seemed genuinely interested in Pamela,” the source said.

Joan Rivers Calls Jolie Stupid (ExtraTV) The sharp-tongued Rivers dished to reporters during an interview with GMTV, “Well, I’ve worked with stupid actresses — I’ve worked with Angelina Jolie — she saw a sign that said ‘WET FLOOR’ one time, and she did!”

Friends Shocked of Duchovny’s Sickness of Sex– (MSNBC) While one friend recently revealed David Duchovny’s sex addition involved the Internet rather than extramarital romances, another pal told E!
